Dan Corbett, QPFC
Financial Advisor
Credentialed with the Qualified Plan Financial Consultant designation Dan is regarded as an expert in the highly specialized retirement plan industry. Dan has proven insight into qualified plan design, particularly for assisting organizations with wide income ranges, along with the support mechanisms needed to facilitate a successful plan.
Dan joined Baird in 2016 after spending over a decade in the medical device industry working for Medtronic and Covidien, working in new product development, marketing, and manufacturing. Dan received his MBA from the University of Colorado Boulder and his Bachelor of Science in Mechanical Engineering with a minor in Manufacturing Systems Engineering from Lehigh University.
Dan is also a member of the National Association of Plan Advisors (NAPA) which is the sister organization of the American Society of Pension Professionals & Actuaries (ASPPA).
Dan resides in Boulder with his wife Katie and two boys, Davis and Klein. He also enjoys fly fishing, running, hockey, biking, and cross-country skiing. In his spare time Dan also serves as a mentor for the New Venture Challenge at the University of Colorado Boulder.
Heath McAteer, CPA, CFP®
Tax specialist
Heath McAteer is a CPA and CFP who’s been planning for clients since 2015. He started his career in 2015 by spending 3 years Public Accounting where he gained valuable experience and expertise in filing tax returns for individuals and businesses. Prior to joining Baird as a Tax specialist, Heath spent 6 years as an Associate Wealth Advisor at Buckingham Strategic Wealth. He created holistic financial plans for all his clients with a particular focus on tax planning. His focus has always been on taxes and how to reduce them over a client’s lifetime, not just in one given year. This is his focus and specialty in his role as a Tax Specialist at Baird. Heath loves his wonderful daughter, beautiful wife, and their 2 noisy corgis. He enjoys writing and playing music with his band and spending time travelling in the outdoors with his family.
Brad Bartick, CFP®, CWS®
Wealth Planner, Senior Vice President
Brad is a Wealth Planner at Baird, having recently joined the firm in late 2022. A behaviorist at heart, Brad’s focus as a planner has always been directed towards coaching fundamentally smart investing behavior. He is guided in this endeavor by a sincere belief that every individual has the power to make sound financial decisions and exercise great judgment in any of life’s many financial pursuits.
Stewarding clients through obstacles and opportunities requires sharing technical expertise but also demonstrating compassion for how others think and feel about their goals, needs, and circumstances. Through active listening and valuing the perspective of others, Brad has been able to show countless investors how to employ simple methods to improve how they accomplish their goals. Brad has over 25 years of experience in the financial services industry. He earned his B.A. in Psychology from Long Island University and completed his financial planning coursework at the University of Portland, earning his CFP® designation in 2011. He earned his Certified Wealth Strategist® from the Cannon Financial Institute in 2019. Brad has spent the last 18 years coaching financial professionals across the Western US to develop deeper relationships with their clients through comprehensive financial planning.
Brad and his wife, Michelle, reside in beautiful Golden, Colorado. Both are active outdoor enthusiasts and hikers, having travelled extensively across the Western United States, Canada, Europe, and Africa to hike and trek. Brad is also an avid backcountry skier. They have been proud owners of English Bulldogs for many years. Their current bulldog, Edgar, is the apple of their eye.
Kathy Blake Carey, CFA
Director of Research & Planning
Kathy Carey is Director of Research for Baird’s Private Wealth Management group. In this role, she oversees the Asset Manager Research, Equity and Fixed Income Research, and Value Equity Research Teams.
She is a co-portfolio manager for the ALIGN Strategic Portfolios where she is involved with investment, asset allocation and rebalancing decisions, as well as due diligence of the portfolios. Additionally, she is a voting member of Baird’s Equity Recommended Portfolio and sits on the firm’s Investment Policy Committee.
Previously, Kathy spent nine years as an equity analyst and sector portfolio manager with Mason Street Advisors, the public investment subsidiary of Northwestern Mutual. Before that, she was a senior associate in Baird’s Equity Research Department covering Utilities and Financial Technology for four years.
Kathy received a bachelor of arts degree from Yale University and an MBA from the University of Colorado-Colorado Springs. She has earned the CFA charter and is a member of the CFA Society of Milwaukee. She also holds Series 7 and 24 licenses. Kathy is treasurer of the Yale Association of Wisconsin and a member of its scholarship committee.
